Why can I not read My Mails?

In order to access the My Mails mailbox members must first create a Profile. Simply click the “Add a Community” link to create a Profile.

Why is the Free Trial on My Mails limited?

The My Mail free trial is set based on usage, not time. If you send more then 5 mails or replies, we ask you to upgrade your membership.

Since DirectMatches has members who join from all over the world, our membership base is very large and constantly growing. Even though we monitor the DirectMatches network, the amount of emails that can be sent by free members has been limited to help prevent fraud and junk communication from being received by our paid members. Most companies offering a similar service to our's do not allow Free trials; however, we do to allow members to sample the service. This ensures free members can develop an idea of how My Mails works and what results can be expected by using My Mails before upgrading to a paid level.

I don’t have a credit card. How can I Upgrade?

DirectMatches will process both credit and debit cards. If you do not have a credit card, most banks that offer checking accounts will issue a VISA or MasterCard Debit card along with the checking account. If you do not have a checking account, you can now obtain a pre-paid VISA or MasterCard. Following is information provided solely for your convenience. DirectMatches is not affiliated and does not endorse these services.

What are prepaid credit cards?

Many lenders now offer prepaid MasterCards and/or prepaid VISA cards. These cards work exactly like a regular credit card. In fact, neither you nor the store will be able to tell you're using a prepaid credit card simply by looking at it or using it.

The concept of prepaid credit cards is really very simple. You open an account and "pre-load" the card with cash up-front, similar to a pre-paid calling card. Then you use your prepaid MasterCard or VISA anywhere these cards are accepted.

Advantages of prepaid credit cards:
  • They're extremely easy to get. You can purchase a prepaid credit card online or at many local retail stores with no credit check or income requirements.

All you have to do is fill out a short application, pay a small set-up fee, and load the card with cash (this amount will be your "credit limit").

  • There are no interest charges. When you use your prepaid MasterCard or prepaid VISA, you're not borrowing any money. The fact is you're using your own money so you pay no interest!

  • Prepaid credit cards can't get you into financial trouble or lead to credit problems, which is probably why you would want a prepaid card in the first place. Since you aren't borrowing any money, you can't go into debt.

  • If you purchase a pre-paid card be sure it will handle MONTHLY RENEWALS.

  • If you purchase a pre-paid card be sure it will handle MONTHLY RENEWALS.

Do you accept Pay Pal?

DirectMatches does not take Pay Pal but process both credit and debit cards. If you do not have a credit card, most banks that offer checking accounts will issue a VISA or MasterCard Debit card along with the checking account. If you do not have a checking account, you can now obtain a pre-paid VISA or MasterCard. Following is information provided solely for your convenience. Why has my credit card been declined?

Most credit card transactions are declined because of “AVS Not Applicable”. This indicates two possibilities. Either the issuing bank of your credit card does not support AVS verification, allowing for verification of your information, or it could be the information you are entering is not matching the information associated with your credit card account. It could be your name, address, or CVS number. Even a minor typo can cause the credit card to be declined. Typos are the most common cause of credit card decline. You may also want to check that sufficient funds are available.

If you continue to experience a credit card decline problem please make sure that all of the details you enter are exactly what appears on your credit card statement. If you still experience a problem you may want to try a second card.

The chance of the problem being a technical error made by the credit card processor is very slim. If you feel that the decline is in error, please contact us and we will investigate the problem further.

Is my bill pro-rated if I upgrade from a lower paid, to a higher paid member type?

No. With direct sales, once a payment is made, commission is paid out on that specific sale amount and member type. The system can not pro-rate your bill. If you upgrade from a paid membership to a higher paid membership level, you will be billed the full amount of the new upgraded member type.

I see TWO charges on My Statement?

If you recently upgraded your DirectMatches membership and, during the payment process, you received at least one Declined transaction message, please read the following information carefully.

DirectMatches' credit card processing AVS security system validates the name, address and phone number you enter when upgrading your membership and checks to match the exact information that appears on your credit card statement. If any of the information is considered a mismatch, the transaction will be DECLINED.

In some cases, your credit card issuing bank will attempt to transfer the payment to DirectMatches, but DirectMatches will not accept the transfer because of the mismatched AVS information. Sometimes, your credit card issuing bank will hold the DECLINED funds in a virtual holding period, and it may appear like a charge on your credit card statement. However, this transaction was DECLINED by DirectMatches and the charge appearing on your statement will DISAPPEAR automatically from your statement, normally within a few days, and you will NOT BE BILLED.

Account Showing Two Charges:

Some members make a typo or other error causing a Decline, which they correct and later process a successful transaction. Here, in some cases, you may find what appears to be two charges on your statement. One is a successful transaction. The other is a DECLINED transaction by DirectMatches, in which your bank attempted to transfer those funds to DirectMatches and is holding them in a virtual account. In this case, the Declined transaction will disappear normally within a few days and ONLY YOUR SUCCESSFUL transaction will remain.

But I received a confirmation receipt to my email.

At times, after attempting a payment where the transaction was DECLINED, you might receive an email receipt that looks like the following sample. Please notice the "status" section states PENDING. Check your email statement to see specifically what the status indicates. If you see PENDING, this transaction will be totally declined by DirectMatches. You might see a charge or a temporary virtual hold by your bank showing on your statement. However, these funds were declined by DirectMatches and the charge will disappear automatically on your statement.

If you feel DirectMatches is in error:

FIRST, obtain a copy of the billing receipt or evidence of two SUCCESSFUL transactions before contacting Customer Care. Then, send this information along with your Customer Care enquiry, otherwise we will not be able to help you.

I paid, but my account is showing "Free"?

When you upgrade your account, you are immediately shown a successful transaction notice and emailed a receipt with status showing SUCCESSFUL. Your account status will immediately change.

If you upgraded your membership and your account is still showing "Free", FIRST obtain a copy of the billing receipt or evidence of two SUCCESSFUL transactions before contacting Customer Care. Then, send this information along with your Customer Care enquiry, otherwise we will not be able to help you.

If you do not have a receipt or evidence of a successful transaction, then your payment did not process. You will need to attempt to upgrade your account again.

If your card is being DECLINED, please check to make sure sufficient funds are available and review the following information carefully:

My credit card failed to renew. How does it affect my account?

A credit card my fail to renew for any number of reasons. If this happens, all you need to do is upgrade your account again. Your My Mail messages will remain, and if you’re a Manager or Executive business builder, your collected sales volume will hold. However, incoming new sales volume will be missed until you re-upgrade your account.

How do I locate and contact my Sponsor?

To contact your sponsor, click on the Back Office tab found on the upper navigational menu. Look for the “Contact my Sponsor” link in the left column. This page contains your sponsor information.

What is a Sales Activity Report?

A Sales Activity Report is a weekly report emailed to you with the amount of new members that have joined into your organization. Many times, these numbers can be associated to spill-over from your upline's efforts, even if you have not personally sponsored new members that week.

How does the Advanced Binary Placement feature work?

With the Advanced Binary Placement feature, you can set the system to place your incoming volume on either your left or right leg. The system is currently set on "Automatic" and is optimized to best place volume for you hands-free. It's recommend that the Automatic setting NOT be changed. Only highly-experienced binary marketers would consider changing the setting on the Advanced Placement feature at some point while building their DirectMatches business. Please join our training calls or contact your sponsor for more information.

How does the Binary Compensation Plan work?

Information about the Prime-4-Reward Compensation Plan can be found here. The DirectMatches Customer Care Team finds it difficult to further explain or reiterate through correspondence on the Customer Care Board beyond what is currently written about the plan and showing on the site. If you need further clarification after reading about the Prime-4-Reward Compensation Plan, we recommend you take the following steps:

  1. Join training calls. The schedule can be found on the News Center page.

  2. 2. Contact your Sponsor. To contact your sponsor click on the Back Office Tab found on your upper navigational menu. Look for the “Contact my Sponsor” link in the left column.

  3. 3. If you can not reach your sponsor or your sponsor is no longer available, network with other representatives within DirectMatches to locate the name of a leader within the company who can assist you with more details.

I received a My Mail notice but no new mail in my In Box.

The My Mail internal communication system is not like typical email. It is a database driven system with no SPAM filters, which guarantees the delivery of all messages. If you received an email notification regarding a new My Mail and did not find the message in your In Box, here are the possible causes:
  • DirectMatches internal monitors watch our private communication system for improper content or fraudulent My Mail messages. Our monitors may have removed the message that was sent to you from the system.

  • Check to make sure your In Box is not full.

  • The most common problem found is when members have registered more than one account. A message may have been sent to the secondary account. Make sure you are checking the correct username account specified in the My Mail notice.

Where do I change the city and state showing on my profile?

Your city and state information was obtained when you registered. If you need to correct this information, click the Edit Email & Password link on the left menu of your profile page to update your city and state.

How do I edit my profile?

To edit your profile, click on the Edit Profile link found under the picture box area on your profile page. On the edit page, you can update your profile headline and narrative, add your personal or business website URL for display, and select your matching criteria.

I am not receiving my emails notices from DirectMatches.

With all of the new SPAM challenges and ISP filtering efforts, email is no longer a reliable form of communication. With this in mind DirectMatches has been designed to be completely email free. This means anything we send via email to notify you of certain news, conference calls, new personally sponsored people or other information is already stored and can be found on the site. The email we send to you is simply a notification.

So, don’t become email dependent, waiting for emails to tell you about your activity. Login to the site daily and check your community email, review your personally sponsored members in the Back Office, and keep up to date with the News Center.

If you want to help ensure DirectMatches email communication does reach you and does not end up in the junk mail folder, make sure you add "admin@directmatches.com" to any "contact list" or "whitelist" your spam filters use - especially if you are an AOL / Hotmail / Yahoo user.

Check your bulk or spam folder. Most email programs use this special folder to save emails received for the first time or that look like commercial mail.

Take off image blocks so that our newsletters and other material with images can get through. If you're using Pop Mail, contact your ISP or ESP and ask them not to block or filter any e-mail from DirectMatches. If you still do not receive messages from us, contact your ISP or ESP for additional support help.

If you still FAIL to receive any of our company communications, all you need to do is simply login to DirectMatches, where you will find everything you need in the News Center, Back Office or in your My Mails inbox. You can also install the DirectMatches DeskTop Manager, which will send your desktop an alert each time we send news anytime you are online.

I want to Opt-Out of email notices.

You can opt-out of emails by visiting the Edit Email & Password link found on the left menu of your profile page.

My profile is missing.

DirectMatches profile monitors watch for incomplete or improper profile content and photos. If you post a profile that has very little, incomplete or improper information it may be removed by a monitor.

If content such as "In Process" or "Coming Soon" is posted, many members may not return to complete this information and our monitors will remove these profiles, even if intended to be temporary.

If you think your profile was removed, you can simply add your profile again. In order to make sure your profile is not removed again, make sure to post a complete, well-written profile.

I can not upload my photo.

If you're having trouble uploading your photo, please make sure the photo is within our requirements. Maximum file size allowed is 102 kb. Only JPEG and GIF formats are acceptable. Photos are best viewed when width is 150 pixels and height is 210 pixels.

If you are still having trouble, please send an email to photohelp@directmatches.com. Include your username and the JPEG or GIF photo file in the email, and we will upload your photo for you. Remember, be sure to include your username or we will not know which account to load the photo to.

I can not post to the Message Boards?

If you are receiving a notice that the message you are posting is over our 5000 character limit and it’s within the limit, here is the cause and solution:

The most common cause is due to members copying content from a word editor to our HTML pages. If you are copying your message content from a program such as Microsoft Word, there are hidden characters in this type of word editor that you can not see. When you past and copy your content into our HTML page, it will read the hidden characters, causing your message to be much larger than what it appears to be.

The solution is to either type your message directly into our page. If you have Note Pad, you can also copy your message into Note Pad and then re-copy and paste the message to our form. Note Pad will remove the hidden characters.

I can’t install the Desk Top Manager?

The DeskTop Manager application is designed to run on Windows 95/98/2000/ME and XP. If you are receiving an error upon installing or after installation, the problem is most likely related to conflicting compatibility of other computer software installed on your machine or other software related issues. The DeskTop Manager application is not required, and if you choose not to install the application, it will not affect the DirectMatches service or your account.

I can’t connect to Instant Messenger?

The instant messenger is a web-based application and operates based upon your Internet connection. The application may at times have trouble connecting if the Internet connection speed is slow or unstable at that moment. Generally if you try the application again at a later time the application will connect.

Note: If you are behind a FireWall or on a network Instant Messenger may not function.

Note: The Instant Messenger does not currently work with FireFox Internet Browser.

If you still have trouble, please contact us.

Why am I being shown a notice to confirm my email address?

An email confirmation message will appear on your profile page when email is returned to DirectMatches. This can occur any time the email we send to you bounces back to DirectMatches. There are a number of possibilities, but generally it can be caused if your In Box is full or if your ISP email network is overloaded and returns a delay notice back to Directmatches.

You can have the message removed by going to the Edit Email & Password page. If your email address is correct, you can click Submit, and it will update our record. If a mail bounces back again, the message will appear again.

Where can I find my Business Website URL to promote?

Your personal business website URL is located in the Back Office. Look for the "Business Website" link on the left navigational menu.

Note:

DirectMatches maintains two websites for promotions. A dedicated Business Website and a dedicated Customer Website. The most popular and most commonly promoted site is the Business Website.

If you choose to promote the dedicate Customer Website, consider that the members registering from this site will not have access to or be exposed to the DirectMatches business opportunity. The site is designed for marketing only to people who may want to use the service but have absolutely NO interest in ever participating in the DirectMatches business opportunity.

I can not find my username in the Username Search.

You are not able to search your own username once logged into your own account. All other members can search your username, and your profile will appear. If you are interested to see how your profile appears to others, simply click the View Profile link found above your profile. You will see a sample of your profile as it will be shown to others.

Can I change my Username?

No – the username you register is recorded in different areas throughout our system. We can not alter our records as it could affect your account or other members. This includes changing the case or making for example the first letter in your username capital.

International Commission Payments

Managing or Executive Independent representative whom resides in Australia, England, New Zeland or Canada may want to consider receiving commission payments other then checks. Currently IntGold our former solution is not providing a reliable service. DirectMatches is investigating new solutions, until such time all commissions earn will be sent by check.

Where do I find more information about DirectMatches?

The best source for information and news about DirectMatches can be found on the News Center page. You can find the News Center link on your upper menu. At the News Center, you will find links to read more information about the Company, the Compensation Plan and the MRM system, along with the Orientation & Training material and your original Welcome Mail. You will also find the Training Call schedule and a copy of our current and past newsletters, accessed from the drop-down box.

ZIP is a file format that compresses data to a small fraction of its original size in bytes. This makes transfer across a network or the Internet much faster. A single ZIP file can contain one or many individual files that will be reconstituted after the data is uncompressed.

In order to use a file that has been compressed into a ZIP file, you must have a compression/uncompression software program, such as WinZipâ, PKZiPâ or SimplyZipâ.

For more information about ZIP files or to download a free or trial version of a file compression program like the software listed above, simply perform a Googleä search for the term zip software .

My inbox size?

The usage indicator on your My Mails page indicates the size of both your inbox and any mails you might store in your folders.

Size allowances are as follows:
  • Free -- 10 mails
  • Customer -- 30 mails
  • Manager -- 50 mails
  • Executive -- 100 mails

Free Trial limits?

MATCHMAKING SAFETY FOR DATING USERS

What about online matchmaking safety?

Connecting through DirectMatches is probably one of the safer ways of meeting people. The personal information we require when you become a member is only used to process your credit card and for other corporate purposes. All of your personal details remain anonymous. You never have to give any personal details (such as your real e-mail address, telephone number or home address) to anyone unless you wish to do so, and all correspondence can be done via our anonymous messaging facility.

Online matchmaking is a quick way to get in touch with other like-minded people. You can really learn a lot about each other without meeting in person by communicating online. This can be fantastic. To add to your enjoyment and safety, here are some simple tips.

Online Safety Tips:
Use our anonymous double-blind e-mail messaging system to make first contact.

Get to gradually know people and learn more about them on our chat facility or Web messenger (Instant Messaging) service. Do not give out your personal details right away.

Avoid putting personal details in your profile or initial messages. These would include your phone number, e-mail address, home address or place of work

Think about using an e-mail account just for matchmaking a free account like Yahoo or Hotmail.

Request a photo from the member. It's free to post a photo and technology is readily available for any member to scan and add a photo to their profile.

Communicate honestly. This allows you to be comfortable if you eventually meet face-to-face. Don't fake your photograph (or send one from 10 years ago!) and don't exaggerate or distort the truth in your profile or your correspondence. Just be yourself, if you really want to have a successful match.

Watch for red flags and trust your instincts. If you have a feeling that someone is not being entirely truthful, be very cautious.

Watch for contradictory statements. If they provide conflicting information about their age, appearance or employment, you need to be careful.

It may be a bad sign if someone is pressuring you to give personal details that they themselves are not providing to you.

When someone does not answer your questions reasonably, you might not want to continue the contact.

If you don't feel comfortable with a member for any reason, stop contacting them. You can use our Block Member feature to prevent them from sending any unwanted messages.

If you feel a member is taking advantage of or abusing the service, please contact customercare@directmatches.com

Last but definitely not least, always exercise caution and common sense. Ultimately you yourself are responsible for your conduct online or off.

Offline Meeting Safety Tips:
Meet in a public place that you know well, such as a bar, a restaurant or coffee shop.

Take a friend or two, or even go as a part of a group. Consider a double date if it's romance you're seeking.

Do not arrange for someone to pick you up from your home or place of work for your first meeting.

Do not allow anyone to pay for or make your travel arrangements when meeting for the first time.

Take a cell phone and always be prepared with an emergency number or the numbers of a friend or family member who you can call if you need help.

Tell a friend or relative where you are going and when you are planning to return and supply them with all of the details you know about the person you are going to meet.

Take all the time you need to get to know the person well; don't, for example, accept a lift home right away.

Exercise caution and use common sense. Be in control of yourself and the situation. If you feel uncomfortable or in danger, don't be afraid to draw the attention of others or make a scene in public, if you need to.

Yes, there are liars, cheaters and even imposters on the Internet. But you'll also find these same types of people in nightclubs, parties, offline dating services, coffee shops, bars, restaurants, hotels, and airports. It does not matter where you meet someone; meeting new people is never a risk-free activity. Please be careful.

If your question has not been answered by the above FAQ, you can contact us for help by logging in and contacting customer care.
